I just moved into a little bungalow and I really needed some chairs for when I have guests over for small bonfires. My grandpa gave me some really old junky metal folding chairs.... of course I painted them :P
ITEMS I USED:
I didn't upload a picture of the actual folding chairs before I painted them! I forgot... So here's a picture of a folding chair that looks exactly like the ones my grandpa gave me.
This is Krylon Gloss Spray Paint I purchased at Walmart for around $4. I picked out a Bright Teal Color (Blue Ocean Breeze). I used 2 Cans of this. I also purchased Krylon Gloss Crystal Clear Spray Paint to put on after the teal.
I bought a Can Gun. It's around $7. It's amazing!! It really does make spray painting a hell of a lot easier :) I recommend you get it. I purchased it at Walmart too.
How I did It:
I sanded down the metal folding chairs with 220 Grit Sand Paper then wiped off the dust & dirt with a rag. Once I was done doing that I put on my first coat of Teal. Take your time! Stay about two inches away from the object and you really don't want to rush spray painting it or you'll get lot's of drips, which absolutely sucks... (Also make sure it's above 50 degrees outside). I put about 3 coats of Teal on the chairs. I waited 1 hour between each coat even though on the can it says it dries in 10 minutes. I just like to take extra precautions! After my third coat of Teal I put a glossy clear coat over it.
